Marcin (Martin) Wiesiolek is the head coach at Colorado Mesa University, where he works with student-athletes to help them grow not only as skiers, but as people. At the core of his coaching philosophy is building a supportive, healthy team culture, one where athletes feel valued, form lasting friendships, and experience the team as a family away from home. He believes that when coaches create a positive environment, athletes naturally thrive and perform at their best.
From that foundation, Marcin focuses on developing well-rounded skiers through strong technical skills and a sustainable approach to fitness. For him, the goal goes beyond results, it is about helping athletes build confidence, enjoy the process, and carry a lifelong connection to the sport.
Marcin holds several certifications:
- Level III Certified Cross Country Ski Instructor, Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA); Trainer, PSIA
- Level II Certified Alpine Ski Instructor, PSIA
- Cross Country Ski Coach, U.S. Ski and Snowboard
- VA Winter Sports/Adaptive Lead Coach
- SafeSport Trained & Certified, U.S. Center for SafeSport
Originally from Poland, Marcin left Communist Poland at the age of 20 and moved to the United States. After living in Philadelphia and serving in the U.S. Army, including combat tours, he settled in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 2000. For ease of communication, he goes by the name “Martin.”
